About

The Slider Project was founded in 2007 by a group of Hood River locals with the goal to progress kite park riding by providing the worlds first public kite park. Since then, The Slider Project has become the go to destination for kite park riding for both pros and amateurs from all across the world. The Slider Project has also played host to some of the disciplines largest and most influential competitions.

The Slider Project acquires funding strictly through fundraising and donations from the public / various brands within the industry. All funds go 100% towards maintaining the park. Interested in helping out? Contact us and check out our donate page.

Our Season

The park season usually lasts from June - September. The Gorge experiences a wide range of wind speeds ranging from light to holy shit. We highly recommend staying away from the park if the wind is gusting over 30 knots. Helmets are recommended at all times when riding the park. Features can shift depending on the wind, current and water depth so please pre check all the features before hitting anything. If you plan on riding the park, please consider donating (either monetarily or your time). The park takes quite a bit of money and people power to keep running.
